On 29 July and 13 August, the Western Australian Space Science Education Centre (WASSEC) was proud to be invited by Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) to attend their STEM Showcases in Bunbury and Perth.
Thank you to Our Lady of Mercy College, Bunbury and Chisholm Catholic College, Perth for hosting us in your school gyms and welcoming us into your vibrant STEM communities.
STEM education is more than just the sum of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—it is a mindset and skill set that shapes how students think, learn, and act in the world. At both showcases, WASSEC engaged students with immersive, hands-on activities to promote their Programs: Mission to Mars, Plants in Space and Cybersecurity. Activities included:
Duckweed Analysis
Rock Identification
Microgravity experiments with our vacuum chamber
With more than 40 Catholic schools involved, we were thrilled to see hundreds of curious minds exploring the endless possibilities of STEM and future innovation.
Both showcases featured inspiring panel members and exhibitors, and we are grateful to have been part of such a dynamic celebration of STEM learning. A big thank you to CEWA for the invitation and for continuing to champion STEM education across Western Australia.
