This Mission requires students to use their team-work and problem solving skills to successfully complete a space inquiry. Students actively participate in a current research scenario, with a focus on answering key questions about selecting the best plants for space to successfully complete the inquiry mission.

Plants in Space is designed to meet the curriculum through differentiated programs for students in Years 5-12.

Things to note:

Plants in Space can be a full day or half day immersive experience.

Plants in Space requires two adults to attend to accompany students.

Plants in Space caters for a class of 32 students.

As a guide Minimum: 16 students  Maximum: 32 students

Students work as a team and use their problem-solving skills to successfully complete a scenario-based science inquiry, based on a current space scenario. Offering a rich experience in science, the learning builds core science skills. Students will work in teams in a specialist laboratory, to simulate conducting experiments in space, students will wear specially designed spacesuits and act as astronauts and research scientists.  

Students will analyse their plant and soil samples and undertake scientific investigations in the laboratory. The program is supported by a pre-mission training package including classroom activities and a debriefing program after the class returns to school.

Mission To Mars

This Mission requires students to use their problem solving skills to successfully complete a geological survey of the Mars surface! Students actively participate as astronauts, mission controllers and research scientists to successfully complete the scientific mission.

Plants in Space

Cyber Security

This Mission requires students to use their team work and problem solving skills to successfully solve a contemporary cyber security issue. Students will actively participate in an ethical hacking scenario, applying security concepts, with opportunities to develop cryptography, programming, digital forensics and reverse engineering skills to successfully solve the issue.
